Jazzing Up Our Decor

Christmas decorations were taken down a while ago. Everything has been reorganized and stored away. Bins are labeled. All these efforts are to make it easy for us when Christmas comes around again. Satisfied with the results, sipping on a hot cup of tea, the bareness of the room glared at me. I ponder what to do with this period between Christmas and spring? In an earlier post, I shared winter decorations. I added slight touches of color. My focus was to use the flowers and greenery in my existing stash. But, I wanted more.

I focus my decor on seasonal themes and stay away from holiday themes. Pursuing You Tube and Pinterest, many are posting Valentine’s or St. Patrick’s decor. I like to keep to a more universal theme. Want to see what I came up with?

First area tackled was the mantle. My grandbabies love wild animals, especially foxes. So, check this out.

Woodsy Touch

On the side of the fireplace, I had two small Christmas trees. I kept them up and changed out the ornaments. Country style hearts.

Touch of Country

Next came wreaths.

Next on my DIY projects are two mini trees. These are currently on tables but can be used in a guest bathroom.

I wanted to add a hint of Valentine cheer so I added LED lights to a floral arrangement.

Can’t wait to see what I will tackle next.

Happy Crafting.

First DIY For 2022

Decided it was time to switch up the decor in my living room. So, I took the Christmas floral arrangement and made it into a winter one.

Winter centerpiece

This is the front view. I used deco mesh in lavender and white and rolled them into burrito bundles. I added gold tuille using an accordion-style fold. I added cream color and white roses. Final touch was the burlap and lace bow.

Here are other views of this arrangement.

Happy New Year!

As we begin a new year, I want to reflect on last year. 2021 will always be a memorable year. We survived the COVID pandemic and learned to enjoy time with loved ones. Our family was blessed with two grandchildren. When it was safe, we participated in several craft fairs where we reconnected with fellow crafters, touched bases with faithful customers, and met new customers. Overall, we are thankful for the blessings received. Thank you to all of you who contributed to helping us make the best of 2021. Now, we are looking forward to a grand 2022.
