Ribbon Poinsettias

Want to create a quick DIY Christmas project? How about making wired ribbon poinsettias. Below you will find three pictures of the ones I made.

I measured the ribbon in the desired size. The red snowflake wired ribbon was six inches long. I cut six of them and then folded them in an accordion fold. Holding all six folded strips together, I secured them in place with floral wire. Using hot glue, I added an alligator clip to the back to secure it my tree as well as holiday berries to the center.

Are you curious to see what it would like on the tree? Well, here it is.

Snowflake poinsettia on my tree.

I wanted to make a smaller version of the poinsettia, so I cut out another one using 5-inch strips. Again, be sure to have six strips as it makes the poinsettia fuller.

This would be a fun activity to make with grandchildren or with friends on a weekend afternoon.

2021 Centerpieces

Tis the season to be festive, so I decided to create several holiday-themed centerpieces. I wanted to demonstrate that I could create budget friendly pieces to add to my holiday decor.

This one here sits on the side table in our dining room. It is made with items from Dollar Tree, such as the silver charger it sits on, the mini-Christmas trees (used for greenery) and the deco mesh bows. The LED candle and the silver ribbon are from Walmart.

Red and White Centerpiece

This second one sits on a tiny table in our living room. It, too, is made mostly with items from Dollar Tree. In this one I used a rectangular dish as the base. Two white mini-Christmas trees on the ends provides the evergreen foliage. Deco mesh ribbon makes up the red bows. I tried a new product the nylon rope that Dollar Tree sold in gold, green, and red. As you can see the red nylon rope was perfect for this poofy bow that sits on a green wired-ribbon bow. The LED candle is from Walmart.

Smaller Holiday Arrangement

This one sits on the top shelf of the highboy in our dining room. It, too, has a rectangular dish for its base. I used evergreen sprigs for the foliage. Red, silver and gold poinsettias surround an LED candle. The bow was made with white deco mesh. I added red cranberries for the finishing touch.

Candy Striped Centerpiece

This lovely centerpiece was a gift for dear friends. The LED candle is perfect for this one as it has candy canes in it.

Hope these centerpieces help to inspire you to try your hand at crafting without breaking the bank.
