Rejoicing Triumphantly

IMG_2892A Redbam Design–Celebrating the completion of this sweater top, after a hiatus on this project due to illness, adds to a state of fulfillment.

Used Casade Yarns (Roslyn) yarn which is a wool /silk blend.  It took four skeins to complete this top.  This yarn is ideal for this sweater as it is lightweight and the combination of wool and silk also adds a texture to the knitted fabric.  This top will have to be hand washed and dried flat, but, that is okay.

Working in pieces from the bottom up, I chose the stockinette stitch as the major stitch for this project.  As you can see the body and sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch.  Reverse stockinette was used for the neck and hemlines.  To add further texture the shoulder yoke is done in a garter stitch.

I want to thank Debbie, owner of Sin City Knit Shop, for helping me to turn my vision into a reality.  We sketched out a basic pattern and then converted measurements into stitches.  This initial step is critical as it allows for determining the amount of yarn needed, determining gauge, and number of stitches to cast on.
